Johanne Quinn

LISTD, IB. AISTD (Dip) TB, MB, CDE

Johanne holds a Licentiate in Ballet with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing, and aside from being a fully qualified and registered Classical Ballet and Modern Theatre Dance teacher, she is also one of the few ISTD, qualified tap teachers in the country.

She also holds a CDE, Certificate in Dance Education with the same organisation. Aside from dance Johanne is a music teacher, having studied and trained with the Royal Academy of Music, Dublin.

Johanne began dancing at 4 years of age with 'Annette Hynes School of Ballet and Modern Theatre Dance' in Bray, Co. Wicklow. She passed all her graded exams up to and including major levels with Honours.

In 2000 Johanne moved to Liverpool and attended 'Merseyside Dance and Drama Centre' to continue her studies and training. While there she achieved her teaching qualifications in Imperial Ballet, Modern Theatre and Tap.

When she completed her training, Johanne was offered a job teaching in the college and spent the next seven years teaching full-time students, training and preparing them for their major and professional teaching exams.

During this time Johanne also worked in several junior branches of the school, teaching children of all ages.

Johanne took part in many professional productions while she was in Liverpool and also worked extensively backstage, gaining experience in the technical side of production.

While in England, Johanne choreographed many shows and performed in many musicals. She also organised back stage tours and workshops for her students, where they had the opportunity to meet members of the performing world.

Johanne teaches in the Arklow branch of 'Frances Ryan School of Dance' and also runs her own school in Kilmacanogue and Kilcoole, Co. Wicklow.
