Tap

Fun and rhythm oriented. Footwork as well as upper-body technique are emphasised in this class.

Tap has evolved as an American dance form, popularised throughout the world, with debate about its origins coming from African dance, Irish dance and /or Clog dancing. The dancers use their feet to strike the floor, beating out different rhythms, with dancers wearing shoes that have small metal plates on the toe and heel to give the distinctive sound.

Tap dance is often seen in theatrical productions.

We run three twelve terms per year, from September to end of June, with Summer School held in July.
